Quality, value and products that deliver results through innovation, ingenuity, teamwork and dedication. Scott’s Liquid Gold is an American Story…
At the turn of the 20th Century...
Scott’s Liquid Gold was developed by a man named Lee Scott in Denver, Colorado. Like many products of the time, Scott's was sold door-to-door. Rose Hartman was a Scott’s Liquid Gold sales representative who frequently sold Liquid Gold to local widow and mother, Ida Goldstein. As business changed during the first half of the 20th century, the formula became available for sale, and Rose Hartman approached Ida Goldstein to see if she had any interest in purchasing it.
In 1951, Ida Goldstein bought Scott’s Liquid Gold for $175 as a business opportunity for her three young adult sons.
The young men began mixing and bottling the amber oil by hand in the family garage in Denver.
Jerry, the oldest son, took on the leadership role, guiding the growth and future development of the company for the next 42 years, taking it from its humble beginnings in a garage to a well-known, highly respected brand. Jerry remained active as Chairman of the Board until his death in 2000.
Mr. Goldstein’s son, Mark, joined the company in 1978. He and his dad worked side-by-side for the next 22 years. Mark was named President and CEO in 1993 and still leads the company today. With innovative ideas and products, Mark has helped Scott’s Liquid Gold to continue to be a dynamic, forward-thinking company. For more than 60 years, Scott’s Liquid Gold products have been widely available in grocery, discount and hardware stores. Made at the same location in Denver, Colorado since 1970, the company is proud of its anchored roots in American manufacturing.
Liquid Gold makes and markets a variety of quality household products.
